wireing fuel pump

ok guys this is wut i know already.i know that u take the wires from the relay and u hook them up in his way i just need some help here

black/white= ground

dark green/white=into fuse panel on somethign 12v that is only on when the key is on.

orange=goes to somethign 12v that is fused with a 20 amp fuse. my question is do i just run this wire rigth to the positive terminal on my battery? also where woudl i get a little fuse block for this?

ok then there is one wire coming out that i run to the fuel pumpand then i splice it to a oilpressure switch witch i splice into the orange wire.

then there is one more wire comin from the relay that goes to that aldl thing in the G port. how do i know wut one is the G port and how do i hook it into it??

ok and finallyare any of these wires ran where they need to be already or no? and do i have to use an oil pressure switch and hook the one wire to the aldl thing.
please tell me everythingi have wrong. thanks a bunch in advance

The answer is very easy if you haven't torn out the TBI wiring yet.

Just leave the FP relay, oil pressure switch and associated wiring connected and the FP will work. When oil pressure builds the pump will run.

There is no need to tear out the current setup.

The first time you start the new engine you will have to fill the carb with fuel manually OR you will have to jumper the FP relay to run the FP till it fills the carb. If you don't, you will end up cranking the engine excessively till oil pressure builds and the FP fills the carb.

All that said, you might consider adding one wire. Connect the starter trigger wire to the terminal C on the FP relay. This will cause the FP to run during cranking.

Ther starter trigger wire can be found at the ignition switch.

You do know that you can't use your high pressure fuel pump with a carb, right?

Re read my post. You don't need to keep the ECM and can get rid of MOST of the EFI harness.

tpi guy- i have tbi right now and i am useing a regulator so yes i can use the pump

BRENT- ok so wut your saying is i don't have to touch anything?? i can tear out the computer and all the dumb wires that go to everything but leave everything goin to the fuel pump relay and it will work? also with this wire u are talkin about that goes to the starter trigger, does it make the pump run when i turn the key or is it to make it run longer for the first start up? also u said u run it to the trigger witch is near the ingition switch? were would this be and how can i identify i am runnin it to the rigth thing? could i just run it into the fuse panel on a spot then only has power when the key is in the on position? thanks

No. You may have to pull some wires out of the harness and recover them.

Yes refer to my previous post.

also with this wire u are talkin about that goes to the starter trigger, does it make the pump run when i turn the key or is it to make it run longer for the first start up?
The setup I described makes the pump run while the key is in the crank(start) position.

also u said u run it to the trigger witch is near the ingition switch? were would this be and how can i identify i am runnin it to the rigth thing?
The ign switch is under the dash on the steering column. I'm not sure what color it is on a 89 Formula. After reading you replies I think it would be easier for you to attach this wire to the starter instead. The starter has two wires connected to it. One is a large cable, the other smaller duty. Connect the small wire to the terminal C on the FP relay. Take a look at the starter and you'll see what I mean.

could i just run it into the fuse panel on a spot then only has power when the key is in the on position? thanks
I don't remember any fuses that are powered during crank only. So I don't think thats possible.
