Which Intake, Stealth or RPM??
I'll be ordering a new intake soon, and wanted some opinions. Should I go with the Weind Stealth (idle-6800 or so) or the RPM 1500-6500. I'm putting a higher lift cam and eventually a higher stall TC, and with the 3:73s and the 1st gear in the 700R4, I won't see below 1500 rpms probably.
Any opinions?
What about the Air Gap RPM? though I have no hood clearance as it is with the 4" K&N. I do have a 1" carb spacer that I could take off though.

Here's my experience with countless engine buildups........................RPM ALWAYS makes more power than regular performer, or stealth, regardless of your cam specs, and RPM air gap is a total waste of money since it adds MAYBE 2-3 HP more than the air gap but it costs a lot more and there is hood clearance issues. Go with the RPM, its a proven performer. Not to mention RPMs are so common you could easily find one used in good condition for cheap. I just picked one up for my girlfriends camaro for $60

In all my builds The wieand products are the only one that showed ANY gain in HP. I personally gained 300 more rpm with the stealth compared to the RPM.

the performer rpm and airgap are the same height
there is no difference. 4.65"
The couple of things that allow the airgap to have more hp are the open divider and the cooler charge. Ebrock says 15hp over 6500 from a performer rpm. If you use a spacer on a performer the difference is less than 10hp.
this is supposed to be the best DP on the market now

The Weiand Stealth is shorter than the Performer RPM....at least the one I bought a few years ago is.
Check the measurements on the Edelbrock site and compare them to the Stealth...the should prove it.
Also, the Stealth has a better advertised powerband. Why go with the RPM, which is taller and doesn't perform as well? Edelbrock is typically overpriced on most of its stuff anyway...
Just my $.02
