Limit on stock heads
Limit on stock heads
Ok I know that in general stock heads suck... But I wondering what the limit is on what they can flow... I'm talking about taking L05 or L98 heads & machining them as far as you can safely, How much power is possible given that everything else is up to par.

search my posts for ported 305 heads the cast iron L98
heads have at least as much potential.
Based on the flow bench results my ported 305 heads
have a potential of 460 hp. All you have to do is bolt them onto
a 460hp motor...
I never got the chance to try 'em on a motor, but I'd say they were good for 400 streetable hp.
I have 2 more sets almost done. It's a lot of work.

Don't bother with L05 heads. Any engine actually that has TBI on top, don't even bother trying to work with the heads. You're wasting your time. Iron L98 heads can be made into excellent performers.
