Alternator Question
Well, it's official. My alternator crapped out on me last night. I've been putting the engine "dress up" on hold for a while and have been just collecting parts. I guess now would be a good time to start. I've got an '87 5.7/350. Which alt do I need? Is it a 1 wire or 2 wire, etc.? I forgot to look last night becuase I got caught up in something else. Anyone have any dealings with the anodized or colored alternators from Summit? I really like the look of the colored units. I appreciate any input you guys can lend.
Thanks,
Jamie

You have the small CS series alternator. The one you see in Summit are the larger, old style "one wire". You may be able to fool around with it to get it to work, but I don't think it would be worth it. Get a Delco rebuilt #321-313 for TPI or 321-310 for carb.

I guess I'll have to go that route.
