How much will it cost to assemble my engine?

I've got all the parts waiting to go into my engine block, but havent been able to make the time to install them myself. I really want to get this thing together so I can stop worrying about when I'm going to do it, and I'm to the point where I am willing to pay a professional to do it. Any idea how much its going to cost to have someone put the bottom end of this thing together? I already have EVERY part needed, all the assembly lube, bearings, bolts, etc. Plus, I've been thinking about it, and I think I'd rather have a professional that puts engines together for a living do this than my dad and I do it Thanks!

Where's Spring, Texas? There's a machine shop around here that we have all our machine work done at. They're currently balancing a fly wheel for me, and will later on have them rebuild my heads. I can't give you a price on how much to assemble it, but it's really easy to assemble an engine...

if someone basically just installs the parts for a short block around 100 dollars if they measure clearances and do a more detaled job expect the cost to rise, 250 to 300. for a domplete assembly with gaskets and all it'd take more time and more cost. figure most labor rates range from 35 to 70 dollars a hour. call around in your area since prices change a lot depending where you are. from what i read on here i'm lucky to live where i do the machine shop doesn't charge near as much as most people report.

I know its easy to do, but I want all bolts torqued and stretched to exactly where they are supposed to be. I'll have to call the machine shop that balanced the rotatin assembly for me, they are closed right now

BTW, Spring, TX is about 20-30 miles north of Houston.
