Redrilling standard TPI intake, and engine builup questions

Well, I've got a few questions, hopefully someone can help me out.

How difficult would it be, it it's even possible, to redrill a standard TPI manifold to fit on Vortech heads? What needs to be done?

Also, please give me your opinion on this 'theoretical' engine that may not be so theoretical soon:
355 cid
Vortech heads (1.94/1.50, 1.6:1 rockers)
Compucam Cam ( 272/284 and .454"/.480")
Ported stock TPI intake

I would really like to avoid having to spend $450 on the Vortech TPI manifold from SDPC because then I might as well get the Dart Iron Eagle heads to fit the standard manifold.

Any thoughts?
Suggestions?
Even ridicule?

Thanks

people redrill the intakes all the time to make them fit either bolt pattern, any machine shop ought to be able to do it for you pretty reasonablely.

Its Vortec, but anyway...
You cant just redrill the manifold and make it work. I know it can be done though, but the ports dont line up exactly right and you have to address that as well. Might try a search, there has been a couple posts on it.
