This isn't a third gen but I think it is similar.My dad has a 92 Buick with a 3.8 TPI.It started missing so the checked for spark.4 of them had real good spark while the other 2 had nothing.So they figured the coil.so they got a new coil pack nothing changed.This has the Magnavox style not the Delco.I guess there's like 2 or 3 pieces to thi coil setup.He was going t go buy the other pieceof the coil and try it but hate to buy another electric part that can't be returned.does anyone have any experience with these things and could shade some light I'd bevery greatful

are two of the wires on the same power block thingy they have to generate the spark? One of the coils could be bad. Opps... didnt see above
Maybe the circuite in the ecm that drives the coils has a problem. I had a olds. that had the same system but its been a real long time since i worked on it. Check teh connection at the base of the power block to see if all the contacts are solid.

That's not uncommong on the one gallon Buick engines. There should be more than one coil pack, however. Check these past threads:
