altenator or battery problem?

I replaced my altenator and battery last year. Today, i noticed my volts going from 10 to 14ish via the stock dummy gauge. My car died and i had to jump start it. It fired right up with a jump. I was wondering what would most likley be the problem? the battery or the altenator?

Take each of them to a parts store and have them tested. What brand is each? If the volts were moving around like that I'd guess the alternator is dying and it'll probably happen again. If you go through more than one battery that's probably the problem.

sounds like the alternator to me also...my experience has been when I replace the alternator, the battery isn't far behind.and vise versa..

just to let you all know, it was the altenator. I hate reading posts and never finding out the end results! Anyway, I knew it was a simple problem, just was not sure if it was the battery or the altenator. Thaks !!
