here is the scoop. My 89 Formula 350 TPI has been acting up lately. My problems include...

1.white smoke at start up (which is burning coolant, I know)

2.when I pop her into reverse after start up she dies on me after reversing at 5mph or even when I put her in drive and accelerate under 10mph, after maybe 15 minutes of driving she runs good???

3.my cooling system has been upgraded to an aluminum radiator and a 170 degree thermostat and the gauge doesn't indicate its over heating... but rolling down the windows I can feel extreme heat from in front of the car. What is the deal with that???

Any help would be greatly appreciated :-)

 

I would blame a toast head gasket on numbers 1 and 3. And a bad IAC for number 2.
