intermittent wiper problem
intermittent wiper problem
I have intermittent wippers on my 84 Z-28.
The wippers work on low and high but the intermittents don't work at all.
If you switch the to inter while they are wipping they just stop in the middle.
Also The washers are not working either.
If I remember, when the washers died the intermittents stopped working also.
Are these two related somehow?
Also when I push the washer switch the wippers move but nothing comes out of the washers. I can't even here the washer pump pumpping.

Are you sure you have intermittent wipers? I don't on my 'bird... just two settings... And when the washer is empty it should just turn the wiper on. My washer doesn't work, I just removed my reservoir and called it good.
I know I do.
THis problem happened a long time ago, but I do remember.
There is an intermittent spot on the switch on the directional lever.
Thats really not the big problem. The problem is I HAVE to get the washers to work or I can't pass the safety inspection here in MASS. I was just wondering if the two are related.

sounds like a dead motor or a break in teh circuit that feeds power to the motor. I suppose you could hook a 12 volt sorce to the motor to see if it turnes on. If it does, then you know your problem is somewhere in the wiring or the wiper stalk itself. Also a good idea to check all teh fuses.
