How does port size difference affect horsepower
I finished porting and polishing my heads and they all look similiar. I was wondering if they were not exact then, how bad will port difference affect my power. Ive heard that if you dont get them exact that a motor will run like crap. I dont understand that. I would think that it would at least help a little. Well tell me what yall think.

SBC intake ports are not all the same anyway. The 2 inside ports are shaped and flow different from the 2 outside ports. Although they should all flow the same to balance out the engine, the little difference you create won't cause any harm.

What he said...
The engine might run a little smoother at high RPMs if they were the same, but there's no practical way to make them the same. But, just look at how different they are from each other in a factory production motor, and they seem to run mostly OK if not as strong as they might with a little tender massaging.
