Idles drops/stalls after put into gear.
I have an 87 GTA. The Idle drops down low and the car bogs and runs like crap when I put the car into gear. It goes away after awhile but it does it every time I put it into any gear.

Post this on the Carb board, those guys will have some better ideas than we do. I'd say you should adjust your idle mixture, if that is possible. You probably have a CC QJet and you can't fiddle with that, though
Have you tried turning up your idle speed? After a while every carb needs a bit of tuning up and idle speed is one of the first things to go awry.
It is adjusted by turning in the screw on the driver's side of the carb that bumps the throttle bracket open a bit. You'll see it when you look closely. It must be approached with your screwdriver from the front of the carb. Only do this after the engine is warmed up to the point that it no longer stalls. Set your idle speed to 750 - 800 rpms in park. It should drop down to around 550 - 600 rpm in drive.
If that isn't it, you may just need to rebuild the carb. It happens to ALL of us, so it isn't just you

It is a TPI 350. It was a transplant engine from an 88 Z28.
I'm actually asking for a friend so I don't know too much.

Well, TPI is a whole different kettle of fish.
Take it to the TPI board and those folks will have some good troubleshooting ideas right off the top of their heads. They're a pretty sharp bunch
