Service Engine Soon light stays on, no blinking, won't reset???

My service engine soon light comes on everytime I turn the key to the on position and will not go out. I tried to read the trouble code by putting a wire from the A to B terminals on the ALDL and it still just stays on and does not blink at all to give me the trouble code(s). I tried unhooking the battery for 1 hr to reset the computer and it still turns on the service engine soon light and it just stays lit, no blinking. I checked the wires going into the ALDL and they seem to be hooked up fine. I replaced the custom chip with the stock chip and that did not work. What's the problem?

I think I figured it out. The stock chip does work. Which means it's either my custom chip or Moates adapter.

yes that definately sounds like a bad chip/ECM issue, if you hook up a scan tool you will most likely get "no data sent" or a message like that...had the same thing happen with my 1st camaro

Make sure you've got the chip in the adapter the right way. I STILL put em in backwards...
