Air conditioning conversion fitting doesn't fit
Just bought the Interdynamics (cheap kit) from Wally world. The high side adapter fits but the low side isn't the right one. There's only one low side fitting in the package and is supposed to fit ALL cars. B.S. Anyone have the same experience or know how I can get it to work? Thanks a bunch.
P.S. I just put the pieces back in from a weight savings kick I was on a couple years ago. The A/C is worth more than a couple pounds right now

I am going to go out on a limb here:
By "high side" are you talking about the big silver colored thing at the heater box?
If so, that is the low side service port attatched to the accumulator. AND you want the fitting with the blue cap installed there.
The high side fitting is in the liquid line from the condenser to the evaporator, down on the frame rail below the coolant recovery bottle. That is where you want the fitting with the red cap.
GM used a 3/8" fitting instead of the 7/16" fitting to discourage people from trying to hook up cans of refridgerant to the high side and blowing themselves up.
The smaller fittings are available through most parts stores.
Be sure to read the instructions in the retro-fit kit.

Thank you! You have no idea what kind of loop that threw me into.
I looked all over today trying to figure out what the heck was going on. I didn't think it was a different fitting than anybody else. I feel soooooo stupid right now. You hit it right on the head:hail: It would be heaven if the parts stores were still open. Oh well, I'll have to wait to get my 134 tomorrow. Thanks again.
