I need to remove the harmonic balancer on my GTA... any advice on how to make the job easy?

Get a harmonic balancer puller.

Auto Zone, CSK, Advance, etc. all "rent" them for free.

While you're there, make sure that they give you all of the parts. Look at the ones on the shelf to make sure if you don't know what is included. Do not screw that bolt into the crank snout without the "center ****?" pinted tip thingy. The auto stores tend to leave that part out sometimes.

This will force you to have to re-tap the crank.

Also, when you return the Harmonic Balancer puller, rent a Balance installer. It makes installing the balancer as easy a job as the puller does for removing it!

Hope that helps.
