It is normal if it is not Posi. It is something that can be fixed. The best thing would probably be new LCA's with Relocation Brackets.

All third gens 82-92 had the posi as an option mine came FACTORY (as in on the build sheet) with 3.73 posi / 4 speed

ALSO LCA relocation brackets make all the difference in the world!!!

The RPO code for posi was G80. B2L and G92 had the posi included in the package. Since yours is an 82, you would have to find the build sheet for you car.

It should be in the console, taped to the inside.

I think a posi was standard equipment on a Z28, though I may be wrong.

I think the last owner ripped it out, any way I am going to try to restore the sticker on the inside of the door, it is painted over.

I would think the z28 came w/ it though

how much are LCA relocation brackets ?

thanks,

Ben

Posi wasnt standard til '90 and that was with the IROC's and Z28's following that.

Are you referring to the SPID sticker in the console? cause that came out in 1985 IIRC.

Lincoln Lockers only cost a 12 pack of beer

If you want posi, at minimum, you will need a posi carrier.
Eaton sells one for about 450 bucks.
Or, you may be able to find a stock piece for about 100.

Hi guys
im new here.
i hada 89 RS with a 305 that had wheel hop. one thing that got rid of a lot of it was adding new rear shocks and polyurethane pieces for the traction arm that runs along the driveshaft. later on I had a buddy of mine who is a welder box in the arm

my 89 RS rear end hops like mad. adding new shocks / struts / springs all around fixed it.
