squeaky engine

something's squeaking in/on/around my engine, it'll do it when the car's stopped so it's not the chasis/suspension. it's high pitched and gets faster if you rev it but i just can't pin it down and it's getting really annoying. anyone know where i should look? should i oil my accessory pullies (where the bolt is, not on the belt surface)?

Try using a automotive stethoscope to pinpoint your squeak.

Most of the accessories have sealed bearings, so getting oil in would be difficult.

If you have seperate belts, you could remove one at a time till the noise stops.

Try putting your ear up to the alternator (but not too close, if you still want to have an ear)

well i've narrowed down where the nosie is from. if i put really light pressure on the clutch pedal, like one pound/half inch of travel, it goes away. what could be making the noise down there? is it okay to block the pedal from coming up that final half inch to stop the noise?

so is the bearing squeaking because it's worn out or does it just need to be greased more?
