Changing intake bolt pattern
I can have an intake that have the Vortec bolt pattern pretty cheap.
Would it be hard to modify it to work with 87 and up heads?

I don't think it will work well. I know it doesn't work well going the other direction.
Vortec heads are pretty cheap and killer, so maybe it is time to spring for them and dump the older style heads?
Or put the Vortec intake up for sale on the Classifieds for a good price. It will move fast.
