Definitely heater core.. I had the same problem. Came out in the morning and there's a big puddle of Ecto-cooler in my passenger side foot-well.

I ended up bypassing mine and was gonna fix it before it got cold, but I sold the car instead.

Yes, you can just connect the two hoses and bypass the heater core completely. As far as changing it, I don't know. Haven't looked it up in my manuel yet. If it is like every other car tat I have owned, however, it probably involves dissassembly of the dash.

My 84 does not require taking apart the dash, as a matter of fact the guy who sold me my camaro had just changed it.. He said there is only like 4 bolt that hold it in and a person who doesn't know **** about cars could change it in about 20 minutes. Just check it out man. It might be just as easy to replace as to bypass. THey are pretty cheap too, and how good will it look when you sell the car and have to tell them your heater system is bypassed.

One of the first repairs I made on my car when I first got it. Not too expensive. I think I paid Pep Boys $100.00 including core, anti freeze and labor. Hell and I really don't drive in thewinter but I like everything working.

Just changed mine today, took 30 min to get it out but I had to bend the tubs on the new heater core to make it fit right. It's a PITA.

I believe it is only the 91-92 Camaros that require a massive disassembly of the dash to get at the heater core. Don't just bypass it, fix it properly as soon as you can. It is just good policy to keep your car is the best repair possible, according to your pocketbook.
