Hey guys
I got a problem. I just put in a new motor & tranny. I was trying to get the beast to fire so I could time it, it was turning over & starting. I was having to turn the dist quite a bit to get it to catch, more than I think it should (and #1 was up & the rotor was set at #1 for the dist, to my knowledge), but thats a diff issue, now it wont even turn over at all. I know the battery wore down, so I charged it last night, still wont turn over. I hear a faint click when you put the key to the start position, right before the fan kicks on. I am going to pull the starter tonight & have it tested.
Any additonal ideas ?

Also which wire/plug do you need to unplug to properly set the timing, I have heard about a a black/tan wire by the heater blower, but I do not see one.

Might want to test that battery or get a jump. Check out the starter. If its froze you can hit it with a hammer then try to start it.

 

sorry forget to mention the battery is about 1 month old & the charger I have has a boost option for starting cars & I already tried jumping it.
but ill try the hammer thing tonight
