speedo problem
ok i just get this 1988 camaro with a 350 and 700r4. Feel in love with as soon as i drove it. Well my problem is the speedo is way off. It said im doing 90 when im doing 60. What should i look at first? I have no idea what kind of gears are in the tranny or rearend. It has a 115 speedo.
Thanks

Sounds like you have the V-6 speedo gear or at least the wrong gear..was this a swapped in motor tranny....If not...check the cable .make sure it is tight. And look for ware.

yea under the hood it said its a 2.8l and the guy put the motor in. I though you had to change tranny from a 2.8 to a 350.
So how do I do i go about change the gear?
thanks

You do have to change the tranny...someone probably got the tranny at a JY and the gear was missing..so they put the V-6 gear back to fill the hole...ask me how I know?
you need to find your rear gear ratio....most likely you have 3.42 gears..find out check your rpo codes..with the decoder on this site. Just go to a GM dealer and tell them what you have..they will get you the correct gear....hope this helps.....you can change it with the tranny in the car, real easy, get uder there and you will see what I mean......
