profesional products intake manifold???
hello guys.
i'm looking for an edelbrock 2104 for my 350,
but searching around i came to this guy that claims tha he's got for sale a new manifold "professional products" (220 buks canadian) and that it can be bolted the same on pre & post 87 heads (the 2 bolt patterns already in) to me it sound too good to be truth, the question is...
does anybody knows about this intake manifold? if so is that good as the edelbrock? or just a cheap imitation? also any website for those guys???
thanks to all, any info will be greatly appreciated.
Fernando.

Almost the same as a performer. The middle holes are slotted and it has inserts for the slots for the older style heads.
A friend of mine bought a polished one for his 69 Camaro.
Looks great. I think they're made in China, though.
Probably not as good as the Edelbrock, but sure looks a lot like it.

:sillylol: I think F-Bird'88 has some knowledge of the Professional Products gear. Ask him about them.

What's going on Fernando? I really haven't heard much about them, but I'm really skeptical of knock-off brands. I think I'd just go with the Edelbrock if I were you.
What part of Montreal? I am going to try and move there this winter. I spent two weeks there this month and I think it's got to be the most beautiful city on the planet! You would not believe how hard it is to work there as an American or how hard it is to apply for a visa! What kind of hot rod shops do you go to there? I didn't look too hard, but the only place I saw that had good stuff was Canadian Tire!
Later,
Paul

dear AT4.
my house is your house, you'll be my guest, i live in blainville, 'bout 40k. N of montreal, nice place, also the inmigration officers here are all a-holes, seems that only terrorists and criminals are granted residence...makes me sick.
changing subject, i'd go also with the 2104 edelbrock but we're talking 310 buks = tx, canadian, adgainst 220=tx canadian of the pro-pro.
must of the parts i get them on the canadian tire, but when it comes to special stuff...there are few good places to look for them,
i hope to see you around and good luck.
Fernando.

The Edelbrock is a little expensive, but it's probably worth it. I really haven't heard anything about the professional brand, so I probably shouldn't trash it at all...
Thanks so much for the offer! What is with the immigration officers there? It seems the only way to stay there is to marry a Quebecois girl or just stay there for six months at a time without working. Neither of these is very practical! I think you're right! My g/f in Montreal says that they let anyone live there, why wouldn't they let me? I've got almost 8 years of U.S. military service and I will finally be out in November. They'll probably still deny me resident status or a damn work visa! That's so frustrating! TABARNAC! Well, enough of that.
If you do end up getting the professional intake, let me know how it turns out!
Je me souviens!

It's probably because you ARE American. The nationalists in Quebec are a xenophobic lot and language, culture and ethnic background count for a great deal more than fairness--or even economic sense--in their books.
They'd rather not have a pot to pee in than have folks speaking English, even in business. (Actually, it's the fat cat nationalists who would make sure they had a pot to pee in, the rest they could care less about.)
It is insane but the feds just rob the West of huge tax revenues and pour it into Quebec to keep the creepy crawlers there happy. It is all BS politics of the most sordid and corrupt sort that lets this crap go on, and I'm sure that Fernando would tell you it's all true.

I know there are a lot of people that are trying to live there or already do that don't speak French, and they don't want to either! I'm talking about people that immigrated there. I'm learning the language and love the culture. As far as ethnicity, I'm white and come from Irish/Scandanavian/French roots!
Most of the people I met there were really great. Look at MIG-29! He offered me a place to stay and he doesn't know me from adam! In America you almost never see that. I'm not saying I hate it here, I just want to live there.
I wish I knew a way to influence an immigration officer in a way other than slipping him some cash!
