FREE '85 Trans Am!!!!!!!!!
No, not for you guys... FOR ME!
I've got an '84 T/A that got smacked by a moving truck last month. It messed up the p/s fender a little, and ripped up the nose and front spoiler. I was pretty upset since I know how much just that lower spoiler is going for, and I didn't have the $400 to blow on it right now. Well, I guess everything happens for some freaking reason! There's a guy I work with that's got an '85 Trans Am. He is pissed off at it because it overheats, idles high, and some other stuff. He told me he will just GIVE me the freaking car! I saw a lot of interior pieces I can use, especially the doors. I can replace my fender with his, and there are some other things too. The '85 has an L69 while my '84 has an LG4. I am going to take off the cylinder heads and swap them on mine, since I need to replace my valve seals anyway. How much gain could I see from just a little porting job? I know that the heads are identical and should be a bolt-on deal, right? Also, what are a good choice for a roller rocker? I should free up a little bit with those right? I almost forgot! I also can take off his 85-90 style ground effects since they're all in good shape except for on piece of the front spoiler! What other kinds of things would you guys take off that I could use?
Sorry, I am still in shock that this guy is just going to GIVE me a freaking car like that!

Hee Hee!!! Sorry....
Should I end up getting aluminum or steel roller rockers? I've heard aluminum wears out pretty quickly. Does a gain of about 5 HP sound fair for the port job on the heads?

if it was me i would pull the lg4 out and use it for an anchor, then rebuild the L69, and put it in the car you are keeping for yourself,
thats just me, i wish i had used a rebuild kit for an l69 instead of the lg4, this anemic, 8.2-1 compression is killing me, unless i could find a blower
, but then i'd have to change pistons, and etc....ok i'll shut up now.
anywho to make a long story short, use the entire l69 engine, after it is freshened up that is
