my car has been acting weird. sometimes it will crank.. sometimes it wont.. it wont crank alot of times in the morning when it has been sitting a while.. then i wait a little while after i tried.. and it cranks.. some days it will go all day without messing up .. i took it in the shop and all.. let them look at it.. they said its not my ignition switch.. and its not in my starter... does ne one know wat could be the problem.. thanx

 

I would make sure all of your battery terminals are clean and tight. Check the ground straps at the back of the block. Do you have an alarm system or V.A.T.s.?
How old is your battery? Inspect the battery cables for wear.

 

yah i think the people who have it now in the shop.. are going to make sure all the battery stuff is good and tight.. iono how old it is.. its been in there ever since ive had the car.. but ive only had it for bout 3 months.. so im not too sure..

 

could also be the neutral safety switch...have you tried starting in both neutral and park...

 

naw i have never been able to try and start it in neutral.. it doesnt do nothing at all.. ive heard it might be the neutral safety thing.. but i dont know how to check it and see if it is..

 

and.. i dont know if this has anything to do with my problem.. but sometimes when im driving it.. and i come to a red light or stop somewhere. it acts like it wants to die.. and sometimes does die.. and sometimes it wont do it.. its weird

 

hate those intermittant problems...how long since the last tune-up?

 

i really dont know.. were bout to go talk to some people about it. and try and figure it out .. hopefully we do

 

How are you sure its not the starter?? I had the same thing and when I replaced the starter after trying so many other things thats what did it.

 

Well.. im not too sure really.. i have alreayd replaced the starter.. and the dude who was lookin at it.. said it wasnt that.. but he never could find the problem with it.. he says its something eletrical.. i keep blowing fuses like crazy.so were getting and going to take it to someone else..
