Hello everyone!
Well thought I'd post my problem.
The dealership can't figure it out!
Here's the short version: Car runs and drives great when cruising down the highway, but when I come to a light and have to stop it surges like it want's to go and then shakes a little and mostly dies. I can start it right up and go, but it's starting to **** me off!
It only does this when the car is warmed up.
Work done:
Injectors cleaned, tested (from the dealer)
NO SES light
New plugs, rotor, cap , wires
New ignition module
Blah, lots of stuff
The only problem they can find is that the screws that hold the ignition module down are broken off on the distributor. (They want to replace the distributor. Seems like it would be easier to drill out the screws and put new ones in) Could the screws make a difference???
Other than that it all looks and tests fine.
Well if anyone could help, please!! Let me know.
Thanks

Have you tried a new egr valve? My 94 Z-28 surged when at idle and someone suggested that I change the egr valve. Cured the problem and idles fine now. i had another car the had a vacuum leak that I could not find and it surged at idle. When I found the vacuum hose that was cracked I replaced it and it didn't surge anymore. Also, is your PCV valve in good shape? Connected and not clogged up?
Check these three things and maybe it will help.

Yea I have the same problem - except my 3.1L V6 has a freaking DIGITAL EGR valve, which = $220-250 replacement. I hate that EGR valve so much.

you coul be vaporlocking where the fuel boils in the lines from it being hot. because when oyur on the highway you have plenty of air flowing uner the car cooling it off and when you stop at a light you sit there and the heat stays under your car.
