350 block

When the heads changed it 87 does the block remain the same?
I am just trying to find out why pistons and crank kits say 1968-1986 i always thought that just the heads changed. and if i rebuild a 350 block that had centerbolt heads will the old style heads bolt to the block? Any help would be very appreciated!!

From what I've picked up, 87+ had 1-piece rear seal, different angle on center intake manifold bolts and , roller cams (on pass cars).
I believe the heads will bolt to the block ok.

86 and up blocks had 1 piece RMS

87 and up cast heads have the center intake bolt pairs on an offset angle, vette aluminum heads still retained the 90 degree angle though.

Your stuff will bolt up no problem to an old block as long as you use the intake with it. If you use a different intake, just hog out the holes to match and silicone them well.

sorry what i have written was confusing. What im trying to do is. i want to obuy a holley kit that includes heads, cam, and, intake. I have a 350 that i got from a friend. it is an 89 i believe. the holley kit says that that it requires a 1968-1986 350 block but i dont see why it wouldnt work with the 89 block. Sorry i am trying but i dont know too much on the subject
