how do you tell if roller rockers are self aligning?
how do you tell if roller rockers are self aligning?
i bought a set of 1.6 roller rockers from a friend the other day. they are new, installed but never ran. the brand name is TRE and they are aluminum and have the roller fulcrums.
how do you tell if they are self aligning or not? im thinking about buying a pair of vortec heads if i cant get my pair of 461's to work with accessories.

Take a look at the roller tip that touches the valve. If it is flat all the way across, then they are not self-aligning. If they have lips projecting down to hold the valve tip between them, then they are self aligning.
Self aligning you do not need to run guideplates. That's why they have the retaining lips.

Yes, but you have to have the heads machined for screw-in rocker studs.
