swapped intake now it won't start

Hey guys,

I just swapped my intake from an edelbrock airgap to a weiand stealth, after getting it all put back together I go to start it and it just keeps cranking. It dosn't turn over at all. I checked the #1 plug to make sure there was a spark and it is there. Everynow and then the carb will spit up gas but it still dosn't turn over at all... any ideas???

Ben

If you're getting a spark, and with changing only the intake, you're still getting compression, that leaves fuel. Have you checked the fuel line for blockage or contamination?

Another possibility is that you have the plug wires the wrong order. Assuming you removed them of course. The distributor end wire cover has the order printed on both sides, both different. Does on mine, anyway.

hrm, I think it is getting fuel because if i look down the carb and pull the throttle back i can see fuel squirt down the primaries, I will recheck the plug wires again. = [

agh, i needed it anyway so i went up and got a new cap/rotor/coil/wires and installed them. Still nothing! i am pretty sure i have all the wires in properly, checked the spark again on the #1 plug and it looks good, is there a way to make sure I got the distributor in properly? It is flush with the intake and bolted down.

You have to mark it and put it in the same way or it'll be off. Do a search on how to install one properly.
