Could this be valve seals...?

Crusing around today having fun w/ a few stangs (and a nice ws-6).... however, one time when i went to stomp on it, the car practically shut off... I had it at WOT for a second or so and the car didn't do anything, until i let off and everything came back to life....it didn't stall, it just "hesitated" for a REALLY long time. I've noticed symptoms like this before...when I would WOT the car would hesitate for a bit and then take off, however it never hesitated this much before.

Anyways, I remembered last time I changed my plugs the #3 plug had so much build up on it, I thought i'd check it first. Pulled #3 and sure enough it was covered in oil. All the rest of the plugs were fine. So is this more than likely a valve seal problem??

Could this also be causing the hesitation when I go WOT?? I'm thinking that if the seal is shot, when the oil pressure increases this forces more oil into the cylinder and cause it not to fire...?

Anyways, please help if you can. Thanks

If its your valve seals are bad your car will smoke at startup and maybe a few seconds after but not while driving. Shouldnt be that much oil anyways. My valve seals are toast but my plugs arent as bad as yours.

could someone please give a run down of how to do a leak-down test...never done one before and I'd like to know.... any special tools I need (just bought a compression test kit to test compression), and is it more beneficial than doing a compression test? Thanks

do the compression test since you have tools for it.
