bad idle problem! need help!
ok, after i have been driving my car around for say.....1.5 hrs. when i come to a light, it idles rough...im talkin so rough...like between 700 and 400...and then sometimes it will go so low that i will see the lights dim like it wants to staul, but i give it gas to keep it up.
i just put a new EGR in, and i used....yes....the search button, and found that it could be any of the following:
Injectors
Idle Circut
Fuel Pump
Fuel Filter
Vaccuum Lines
Spark Plug Misfire
i just filled up my tank, and for some reason just hrs later i was a 1/4 tank even tho i wasnt seeing any gas spots on the ground....take that as ya will.
thanks guys your all huge help

Unless someone siphoned the gas I would attack that one right away, it's gotta be going somewhere. Otherwise there is no easy answer. You are going to have to troubleshoot. Fuel pressure, vacuum leaks, you name it. Can't be of much help without more info.

dear friend, dont lose your cool, start with the easiest thing, normally thats it.
to me of all posibilitys you listed, the most probable is a vacuum leak, take your time and look at it, those plastic solid lines are one of the worst ideas those pot smoking engineers have come with, at simple view they look fine but if you move them a bit, there you'll see the crack.
also, you changed the egr valve?, it could be the gasket in bad shape or the vacuum line that powers it.
you'll see that is simple.
Fernando.

fernando - that was very releaving to hear
i think i got it fixed tho, here was the problem
i recently got a new EGR, and my computer and smog pump werent used to it. not only that, since my EGR hasnt been working for a while, im not used to it...and all the dust from the exhaust that goes through the EGR just sat in my engine (in the cat, smog pump, everywhere) so i just blew out my engine (i pinned it everywhere i went) and now the idle seems perfectly fine...i think why i went though so much gas it because i was pinning it everywhere and i have a stupid gas guage, it doesnt really read that accurate...you guys were both a big help...thanks
