Anyone have this problem?

I changed my spark plugs today And when i took her out for a test run, I noticed the Temp guage was reading 40*C. So i come back home thinking i just knocked off the wire to the sending unit, but nope, she's still attached.
With the ignition off it reads 0*, while running it's at 40*, and at start up the guage pegs off the scale for a second and drops back to 40* instead of 100* or so.
1, Am I grounded out some where?

2, Is my sending unit pooched?

3, Or is it the guage?

Anyone have this problem?
