Stall problem, Need help fast

My car somtimes stalls when I decelerate, especally from higher speeds(35+) Sometimes it'll turn over right away, Other times I have to let it sit and keep cranking(like its flooded). I know when it is about to stall because the rpm's drop. If I tap the gas it usually keeps it from stalling. Also, it helps if I let off the brakes and let it cruise for a sec. The rpm's drop to about 600 then bounce back to 1000, then back down when I stop. I think it may be a EGR problem but I'm not sure. Please help.
My car is a '85 TA with a '89 305 TPI. Please note I still have the '85 harness and ECM. The previous owner never updated the electronics(dumba$$) I now have no cold start system at all( no injector or program). Just cranking and cranking and pumping the pedal like its a carb.

I had a 90 Cavelier with a 3.1 that had symptoms alot like yours. Turned out to be 2 bad injectors. Ran like a champ after that. Just a thought. Maybe check your fuel pressure too?
