Could this be the replacement for the Camaro

The 2003 Chevrolet SS concept is a modern interpretation of Chevy’s Super Sport heritage. A contemporary four-door family sedan turned sports car, the SS packs rear-wheel drive with a small-block V-8, high-performance suspension and brakes to match.

I got this off this web site, there is also i picture of the car.

Looks like a GTO clone with Chevy styling cues. Typical GM, they wouldnt make the GTO without selling it under just about every other brand they have.

The SS would probably be Chevy's sister car for the GTO. Chevy's also thinking about making the Monte Carlo a RWD car, so maybe that's what it is. I've also heard rumors that the Camaro might be back for '05, as soon as they decide which RWD platform is best. But then again, here at GM, you hear a lot of things...

I'm happy they are keeping affordable rear wheel drive V8 cars in their line up. I remember all the talk in th 80s about no more rear wheel drive cars with V8s. Ugly or not if it has 300 horsepower and rear wheel peel it's continuing the tradition.

And I mention affordable but that is all relative. I know I can't afford any new car really. But you know what I mean.

Gimmie! Gimmie! Gimmie! haha

Its a GM I'll take it

I can't wait till they come out!

Must.....have....test....drive......haha

:lala: I usually scare the bejesus out of the car salesman

But yes I think its just a replacement for the camaro.....If they didnt keep a milder sports car in the lineup they wouldnt be able to compete with the other brands

What the **** is wrong with GM. Seriously. That thing is ugly as all sin. I agree with the previous statement, GM needs a push in the right direction... it appears as though these guys are a little lost for some sales.

I prefer KISS (Keep I Simple Stupid) myself... Gather your sports cars, make them sports cars (look and perform), sell them as such... Make your luxury, again, look and preform luxury and sell as luxury. Utility vehicles, practial purposes practical sales... make your economy car, and your family car. none of this multi-use bullcrap they're producing now...

RWD 300+HP with 4 doors and enough room for groceries!? Gimme a break

FUGLY!!!!
I'm finding fewer and fewer cars that are actually aesthetically appealing.
I'll provide the boot. Somebody provide the **** for me to kick.

theres too many words to say how f'ed up GM has gotten. i think the older folks from the 60's and whatnot have finally retired and let the just out of skool college grad/ricers into the GM corperation. i mean if thats even a prototype of the 2003 SS. i think id drive a ford then a chevy if they make something that ugly to call it a camaro SS.

don't care. when I get bored of my camaro (maybe in 4-5 years), I'll probably get a 1980s Yugo, change it over to 2.0 liter, turbo it, supercharge it and fit it with AWD. mmm-hmmm-good. Ladas, Warburgs, Dacias, beat-up Fiats and similar legendary cars would also be worthy candidates. As long as they look like ****, have barely any room for me to fit in them and weigh under 2400 pounds, they are good enough candidates.

That looks like the concept Dodge Charger that MOPAR swore they were gonna have out my 2003. Yea... that'll happen.

I bet if I sold you an M5 for $50 you wouldn't be too upset, would ya? Then again, if I could afford an M5, I sure as hell wouldn't be here typing this. I'd be sleeping in the thing. Or maybe even sleeping with it.

What ever happened to the Monaro idea? You know, that Austrailian version of the Catera that's got an LS1 and a 6spd? That would be a cool frickin car!!! Almost tempted to go export one outta there and bring it here. But then I'd be hitting people 'head-on' all the time. :sillylol: Then the other reason is the same reason that I don't have an M5!!! NO $$$$.

I'm not apposed to having a more "practical" Camaro. The Camaro's always been referred to as "the poor man's Corvette" because it's just as impractical as a Corvette. That's why GM wasn't able to sell a lot.

But to make it a 4 dr!!! I'd go shoot John Moss right in the face with a water pistol full of **** for letting GM do that!!! He's the "concept" guy for the performance division of GM. It's bad enough they've got him building a "high performance" engine for the Cavalier. What's next? A supercharged Tracker???
