Best cam for a 350 sbc

I am building a 350 and I want an aftermarket cam. I want a cam with power all the way through the powerband or at least at low rpm's. The motor is also out of an 88 IROC and is going to be carbed. Thanks!

Get a dual pattern lift cam. This will give you a slightly broader power range. If your wanting to get decent high end but keep a nice amount of vacuum and torque then stay around a 450-460 lift with about 224 duration (at .050), about 112-114 lobe sep. This will give you a range from 2000-5000 depending on what the other components are (intake, heads, compression, etc). Mark, how did the cam swap go?!! Hows the power difference? BTW- I finally got the car down to a 9.1 at 77mph. That was with a intake manifold leak and a huge header leak. The car is down right now though .

depends on what else you are putting into the motor as far as heads, displacement and bore and stroke...

what else do you have planned

ppl can say this cam would work great for your car

but then they find out your building a car with huge intake and exhusat ports that would move the powerband above the range of the cam you might lose power

Very good point. Also gears and TC matter too.

Well, I'm not going to get too crazy with it. I am swapping a Holley 600 carb as well as an Edelbrock Performer Intake on it that I have from my 305. I also have so no-name headers that I'm sticking on there. I'm gonna stay with stock L98 heads right now (I have school to pay for). I also have 4.10 gears. I should really make a sig. Lol. Hope this helps!
