Idle air control valve.

it screws into the throttle body, has a 4 prong connectos. Cant really miss it.

Just unscrew it and clean it off. it gets gunked up and needs cleaned.

but dont spray it down with carb cleaner or anything. could screw it up. mine I diped it in some carp cleaner so just the tip is in it.

they say in the book to use a new gasket.

You can buy "throttle body and intake cleaner for fuel injected engines", sold next to the carb cleaner. When you spray the pintle of the IAC (pointed triangle at the end of the IAC motor shaft, from inside the throttle body), hold the IAC motor so the pintle points DOWN to the ground. Like Gumby said, if you get any cleaner inside the windings of the motor, you can damage it.

Also shoot some cleaner into the IAC passageway inside the throttle body. The IAC allows air to get past the throttle body plates when your foot is off the gas- this way, some air gets into the engine so it can keep running. That passageway clogs up. It'd be inside the hole that the IAC came out of- look inside, it's the hole that the pintle goes into.

Don't turn the car on with the IAC removed and connected. The IAC can over extend, and then you'll have to force the pintle "in" so you don't damage the IAC when you reinstall it. As long as step #1 is to disconnect the IAC, and step #"last" is to reconnect the IAC, you don't have to worry.
