Cost ME 26 BUCKS!!! When I put headers on my car I kinda messed up the old oil dipstick. Well no other parts store had one except the dealersh!t. Just for the hell of it I asked how much for front right fender. $500.00!! Even the dude who looked it up started cracking up. Screw that..... I told him I can pull both fenders from a Junk yard and get them painted for cheaper. Hey has anyone ever calculated how much it would cost if you bought every part and built a car from the Dearler****. If I worked in the parts department thats what I would do with my spare time.

But GM are probably the worst thieves in the auto parts industry. Two weeks ago I needed a sleeve to match a 45 tooth gear for my speedo. The old price was $38 Canadian (which I thought was outrageous, considering what a sleeve amounts to) but GM had just raised the price and I had to pay $94.00 for that POS chunk of aluminum
I wish the feds would crack down on this type of gouging, but GM pads their election accounts and thus the gov't lets them rob everyone.
I remember 20 years ago I needed a new grill insert for my 1979 Impala. You know, the black rectangular little piece of plastic that fits between the headlights, about the size of a computer keyboard? I had to pay $200 for that. If there was 50 cents worth of plastic in it, I'd be surprised.
And trust me, $200 twenty years ago was worth a LOT more than it is today.
