It's the Comp 08-450-8. 230/230 @ .050 and .560/.560 with 1.5s.
Comp recommends their 986 or 987 springs for this cam and the SDPC springs are very close to the 987's, much stronger than the 986's, and for the 1.250 spring pocket, so I don't have to have the heads machined.

You'll need the Comp 987 springs for that cam.
That spring is for LS1 motors. That spring coil binds a .610"
when installed at 1.77" Doesn't leave enough room for a .560" lift
cam at full lift. (.060" minimum).
If Comp Cams thought you could get away with a 1.25" dia spring they would say so.

Send Comp Cams ans email so they can advise you on the correct stuff for their cam.

There are no 1.25" springs on the planet that will work with that cam. If you use small springs, something (or multiple things) will be destroyed, probably including the cam; and I guarantee Comp will not warranty it.

Get the springs Comp recommends, and do the machine work to install them. It may seem expensive and troublesome now... but it will be nothing compared to the mess that using inferior or misapplied springs will create.

I'm going with the 987's. The only reason I was looking at the SDPC springs was because of the 1.250 diameter. I however had my last set of heads in mind that used that diameter spring.
My AFRs already are the 1.450 diameter, so the 987's are the ones to use. don't know why I was thinking that, the brain does funny things.
thanx however for the input.
