low rpm buzzer?
low rpm buzzer?
hey guys, i got an 86 camaro sport coupe, lg4, 700r4 with a small problem... whenever it idles really low (for example, in drive, stopped, with AC on, around 500rpms) i hear a buzzer somewhere just barely starting to come on... if it drops any lower than that, its a constant buzzing noise (an actual buzzer somewhere) what's up with this? and how do i get rid of it? it's driving me nuts!

Sounds like the ol' transmission front pump buzzing relief valve.
I think there's a tech bulletin on it, but I haven't checked into it. Mine hasn't done it since the shift kit (before that, the torque converter made so much noise, couldn't hear anything else
).

Oh, your drive/AC-on idle speed should be higher than that. Forget exactly (I'm 1600 miles from my car right now), but I believe it's 650.
hmm... i'll check that tomorrow... i was trying to set the idle low enough so that the tires didn't friggen chirp when putting it into gear...ahh well, either hard tranny shift of buzz..
