can craps out after an hour
can craps out after an hour
i have a 92 rs 305 , tbi, ..ok, ..ill run my car for an hour, ...and basically, ..its stutters, .....act like its choking out , getting too much or no fuel at all, ..i dunno. usually happens when i run the a/c for awhile, but if i turn the a/c off, it still slugs, chokes weezes, ..and cuts off, ....any suggestions on what could cause this?? coil? fuel pump?
Slo,
Are there any other symptoms? SES lamp? Error codes? Fuel mileage issues? What is teh spark plug condition?
If you haven't done so in the last 30,000 miles, changing the O² sensor might be a good idea, and could have some positive consequences relating to your problems.

by craps out do you mean it dies? if so get the module tested, or replaced, i'd usw only one from gm parts and use the greese under it. you can also try to cause it to fail by heating it with a heat gun or hair dryer.
well, ...it bogs down, and actslike no gas is getting to the engine....i can put my foot on the gas , press it all the way down ot an inch down, and it just acts like NO fuel is geting to it.....as again, only happens when i use the a/c for awhile....so yeah, any suggestions would be great cause ,.. as of now, its got be scratching my head and kicking random objects around the house
nah, if it were the cat, it would do this all the time, ....this only happens once in a blue moon...and, ..only happens when i use the a/c for more than an hour....if it were the cat, ..it would do this 24/ right?

is it onlt if you have more than a half tank of gas? and is it pretty warm outside? mine did the same thing. do you hear any pressure releasing or anything? open your gas cap after it chokes out and see if there is any venting. if there is it's time to do a fuel pump job

finally , someone telling me what i want to hear, ...heres the key reason i believe its my fuel pump, ....when i have a quarter tank of gas, ....and i stop semi fast, ...the car cuts off completly.. and yes whenever i open the gas cap, ...there is alot of pressure build up.....but as again my car only messes up for the most part when i run my a/c for awhile....im gonna swap the fan motor today "just in case" it is over heating and my guage is lying to me, ...other than that ive replaced the fan switch, thermostat, ...radiater is spotless, ..no need for a flush. replaced the coil yesterday, ...still awaiting an idea as to how the hell i can change the o2 sensor without completly taking off the exhaust manifold OR destroying the one thats in there to use a socket heh. could it be the injectors to the tbi unit? seriously, any ideas are greatly appreciated. sorry to be a pain yall but ill be damned if im stickin it in the shop to fix somthing i can fix myself. <yall know the feeling> thanks for the ideas so far, keep em commin

The pressure in the tank is not the cause of your problem. It would actually help overcome a weak pump. In fact, many newer cars will set a trouble code if the pressure in the tank doesn't build up.
Sounds to me like you have a fuel pump on its way out. But, check the routing of your fuel lines, make sure no exhaust part is close to them or anything like that.
