Anyone paint there daul snorkel air cleaner another color besides black??????

I have my dual snorkel air cleaner down to the bare metal ready to paint, and was just wondering if anyone has tried any other color besides black. I tried the appearance and detailing board, but had no replies, so I wanted to try here. Anyone have any pictures???Would really appreciate it if you do.:hail: :hail:

azvolfan Mine is chrome plated.
That does look nice, is that just chrome paint, or did you have it done somewhere. I think I would rather do mine like that rather than just black agian.

I took it to a plating shop here in Phoenix and had it chrome plated.

I don't mind at all. It was $85.00. I did not shop around. So I don't know if it can be done cheaper. Probably can.

If you wanted to be 'somewhat' different, get a little more air flow, and not spend quite that much money....... you can get one of these lids instead of having the entire air cleaner chromed.

Don't get me wrong, that solid chrome one looks sweet, but that's a lot o' money.

Guess I should have said..... It's the 88-92 lid. The newer one has two wing nut holes. The reason it can flow a little more air is because you can run the K&N (or any brand for that matter) #1500 which is the truck filter. It's 3" tall instead of the 2 1/2" that the #1450 is for our cars. And unless you have other mods, like an aftermarket intake manifold, etc., it WILL clear the hood.

I considered just doing the lid, but I had the extra cash so I went with the whole thing. Glad I did. But if cost were an issue at the time, I would do a chrome lid.

I plan on doing some other things like chrome brake resvior lid, chrome alternator, and I have some magna braid. Just have not had time to put it on.

A chrome lid???? You mean all of the rest of your air cleaner black with just a chrome lid. Just my opinion, but that kinda looks stupid. Black with chrome, just doesn't sound like it would look right on the same part like that. I think azvolfan looks very sharp.

Every production 1st gen Camaro SS, as well as a few that weren't an SS has them that way. Plus they got the cute little sticker that says 350/375 HP or whatever.

You've seen an open element air cleaner right? All you see is the cover right? It's chrome right?
