Ok i have an 89 tpi 305 trans am. it broke down and i tried to start it and it wouldent. i sprayed carb cleaner into it and it started. i thought it was the fuel pump so i replaced it. after i replaced it i tried to start it and it still wouldent start. it still fires on carb cleaner.i have fuel pressure and i hear the pump cycle when i turn the key. also the inertia switch is down. what else could it be????? please any suggestions will help.

 

it only stays running when i continuously spray cleaner into it if i stop it dies.

 

fuel filter, "ecm" fuses in the fusebox

 

if it was the ecm would it still start on carb cleaner? also i checked the fuel filter i'ts not plugged.
