no, usually rice is soemthing or someone thats trying to look like "performance import" by just altering the looks of the car and not actually modding it to make it perform.

Rice usually describes economy cars that are made to look fast but have no real performance mods done to them. IE a civic with a body kit, wing, decals for products not on the car, and a fart can would be rice. Now a TT Supra with blow-off valves, full exhaust, boost controller, and chip work would not be rice.

I would drive anything if it had 1080hp. I dont care what country it was made in, how stupid it looked or anything. I would even drive it if it looked like rice. You still have 1080hp and you would put most people to shame. Im assuming the 1080hp ecotech is twin turbo and all that craziness?

what is it the 2.4? if he can make a 2.4 have 1080hp why doesnt he make one of our cars with a 350 pushin around 2200hp?
Twice the size, Twice the power...right?

IIRC, it's a 2.2L.
BTW, have you seen the 2003 Cavalier? Talk about FUGLY!!!!! It looks as though GM is trying to make it look RICE!!!!!!
It's got a huge pointy front bumber, and they tried to mock the Impala tail lights with the solid red across the rear and the round tail light look. It's soooo bad.
But I guess if it had 1080HP then I could deal with it.

that whole advertising frase was takin the wrong way. they changed the wording of it now i think. its like those adds that dealers put out that have a picture of a K car and the add says "first $500 takes. this one wont last!"
it still funny though.

IF SPEED KILLS, THEN RICERS LIVE FOREVER.
You need to keep in mind that material technology allows us to reach a certain power level before things start breaking. You need some heavy duty components to handle 1000hp, whether it's from 2 liters or 6 liters. Now for 2000hp you're going to need even tougher components. As we get more advanced materials at an affordable price, the reliable power ceiling gets higher and higher. 30 years ago it was tough to have a 1000hp car that could handle the power without breaking down on every full throttle run (or being extremely heavy). Now it's not so tough. It's still expensive, that's for sure, but it's doable, and people are doing it over and over. Now, making a reliable 2000hp car is still a problem with today's technology, and probably will be for some years to come.
So the problem is not making an 8hp per cid 350, but making one that will hold itself together. (as well as the transmission, and rearend)
