tv show this morning with edelbrock crate motor??

hi,
did anyone see the commercial this morning,9-21-02,witht eh edelbrock crate motor,with 410 hp's,and only 2000 or something like that?it was along with one of the car shows this morning,my gf's dad was telling me about it,i need another motor for my v-8 s-10 project,if you saw it,could you give me the info,he didnt catch it,or just let me know some good cheap places to purchase these crate motors,thanks alot for your time.

Yeah, no way it was 2 grand. I've looked them up before. They are very expensive.

It was probably 2 grand worth of stuff just to install it, after the motor was already on hand.

no,
from what he was saying it was a complete running motor,dynoed and everything,i mean i dont know,i didnt see it,but thats what he was telling me,and i know what they cost throught jegs/summit,just wondering if someone had some kind of special or something,i mean this guy that saw it,wouldnt have lied to me,and he knows his **** with cars,he built a 65 mustang,did everything himself,i was just trying to find out what was up with it,

Those Edelbrock crate motors are expensive as hell. You get a lot of sweet parts but that price is way up there. I don't know of any Edelbrock crate motors for 2k.

Hmmm I can't see the math there, I mean I've got a set of RPM heads, and they alone cost over 900 bucks.

...and I think the Eddie Crate motor has a Forged Crank to boot. So theres a nother 500+ bucks.

The cam, carb, and intake is about 550 or so.

We havn't even got to the block yet, and don't forget the $150 Victor Series water pump.

Piston - rods - rings -yada yada, and yada...

BTW: I dought Edelbrock would give them away, since they assemble the engine with parts from several manufactors which they purchase from.

All the Edelbrock engines use ZZ4 short blocks that are $1900 no way $2000 for a complete engine
