setting timing

I have a buddy with a 83 z28 HO. I want to set the timing.Where is the wire to disable the esc on this car. I have a 88 and mine is on the evap box on the pass. side.

It's a 4-wire plug, under or behind the dist... turn the car off, unplug it, start it up, set it, turn it off, plug it back in.
