Hey guys. I have an 84 Z28 5.0 HO, its carbed. The engine has 75,000 original miles on it, I have a newly completely rebuilt turbo 350 with a B&M Shift Kit. Also i have a newly rebuilt carb. I'm going to put be putting in a hooker cat-back system, w/ some Hooker Super Comp headers, and a K&N filter. Also either a B&M Megashifter, Pro Stick, or Hurst Pistol Grip is going in, which would you guys recommend on that? I pretty much want to know what you guys would recommend I can do to my 305 that'll give me some decent hp, I want to be able to beat the imports and mustangs and hopefully atleast give some other muscle cars a decent race. I do have emmisions so i need to keep the smog intact. but i just want some tips and recommendations on some mods that i can do to my little 305. Thanks

 

I have the B&M Megashifter, and I love it, I bought the console model meant for the third gen's. The only problem I have had is that when I shift hard ( ratchet action) it lifts up the plate on the console, But it is great other than that.

 

Thanks. Does the shifter come with a plate that'll fit it in the console, because i know you have to remove the stock shifter plate.

 

I have one and it comes with a plate, you have to cut the original plate a little and the new one fits over it. I love the shifter as well.

What gears do you have in the car?

 

I'm not sure, its either 3.73's or 3.42's, it says on the tech data for Manual Std. its 3.73's and auto is 3.42's w/ option 3.73's. So I dunno.
