i just got it tuned up (plugs, wires, fuel injectors cleaned the whole nine yards)
and today i started it and had it in neutral but then the engine dies. i started it again and keep my foot on the gas so the engine wont die for 5 minutes but as soon as my foot comes off the gas it dies again.

this happened to me once before but it went away after i tuned my car up BUT NOW ITS BACK!!!

does anyone have an idea whats wrong??? could it have something to do with my bullet i put in place of my muffler because this prob started about 2 weeks after my exhaust mod.

HELP!!!!!!!!!

 

Check your Idle Air Control(IAC) Sensor. Try to adjust it to see if you get anything from it, or check and see if it is bad. I have never had this problem, so I am not for sure, but this could be a possibility. Hope this helps......

Check for a vacuum leak, happened to me once. If your vacuum lines are really stiff, you might want to replace them just for the hell of it.

 

how did you clean your injectors?

 

Does sound like it could be a vacuum leak. Have you checked to see if you have any?(propane method?) Or checked vacuum pressure? Also how is your fuel pressure? Just a couple things to check.

thanks for the ideas guys ill have to check it out. the wierd thing is when it gets warmed up to 200* it runs fine but below that it will stall if i dont keep my foot on the gas.

take it back to the shop and tell them it's messed up now.

 

SOUNDS LIKE A F**ED UP IAC. IT MAKES SENSE TRY ADJUSTING OR REPLACING.

 

Definitely NOT a vacuum leak. A vacuum leak on a SD car does absolutely nothing except raise the idle speed.

Most likely cause is a dead or dirty IAC as has already been suggested. If it will idle fine with your foot on the gas, etc and is otherwise running fine, the IAC is an easy target.
