Need some advice fast!

Today my car did something very strange. I had just filled my car up with gas and I went to start it to leave the gas station. I turned the key and the car tried starting but wouldn't start. I give it some gas and it fires up but dies as soon as I let go of the gas. The car wouldn't idle. If I gave some gas and started the car and continued to give it gas the car would stay alive but as soon as I let go of the gas the cars RPMs just dropped until the car turned off. So I drove the car home by not letting it idle and keep giving it gas. When I pull up to my house I let go of the gas to see if it would die but it didn't. It stayed idling. I turn off the car for a couple minutes then start it again to see if it was back to normal. It started right up and had no problems other than the one that I have been having with the burbling after the gas was let off. Do you think the dying problem and the burbling after the gas has been let off are related? The car hasn't done the not starting thing today again since the gas station. What might be causing this problem? I was thinking at first the fuel pump was going but wouldn't the car be affected at all times if it was? The car has done this not idling thing before but I thought it was just the alarm those times acting up because after a couple tries the car would run fine. Would a bad TPS sensor or another sensor cause the problem? Sorry this is so long and confusing but the problem is really frustrating me. Any ideas on the what is the problem?

sounds like the fuel pump. Mine did that for along time and I couldnt figure it out. For 2 months it did that...it wouldnt stay started so i revved the crap out of it then started moving but once it got warm it ran fine. Then all the sudden the problem stopped and it ran perfect for awhile then one day the pump just died.

Damn I was fearing that. I had a feeling it was though b/c there is a jingling under the car that sounds like it's coming from the pump. I hope it can last out until I can afford to get a new pump installed. Man looks like the cam is going to have to be held off a little longer Any recommendations on a good fuel pump to get?

You checked the IAC? It could have stuck closed not allowing any air past it.

Don't forget that your two problems might not be related. Having two seperate problems at the same time has screwed me more than once!!!

good luck
