Does this rear end exist..

Ok, I have a 91 Z28. I'm looking for a used rear end with 3.42 gears on a posi drum. Does this exist?

I know the 91/92 305cc G92 upgrade had the 3.42 ratio but were these still drum or all changed to disc?

Also, does anyone know if any of the older camaro rear ends with 3.45 ratio have posi drum?

Thanks!

The 3.45 is a 9 bolt ratio. 99.9+% of all 9 bolts are posi disk brake units, but a few drum brakes and few open carrier units do exist.

If the RPO code sticker is in the car look for GU6 (3.42) and G80 (posi). Those are the RPO codes for our cars. But I don't know about the carriers and axle splines. I think they didn't go to 28 spline axles until 89, so look for that year or newer.

it can go either way in 89....90 up for sure has 28 splines..if you have an 89 you have to count to be sure..

That would be an extremely uncommon combo, if it exists. But not hard to create yourself of course. Go find one of the 6-cyl 3.42 drum rears, then just put one the the SLP posi units in it.
