i have been having a heat problem latley but not overheating it gets extreamly hot but i don't know where the heat is coming from i found a broken bolt from my intake manifold and there is a chip in it. on the other side of the engine my my coil wires started to melt untill i wraped them in tape. it takes 1 extra sec. to start it hot or cold. and i notice a small gas smell when i get in my car (not sure if this is related).
im lost, any ideas are welcome.

 

your intake manifold may be leaking...this for sure would cause the problems you describe.

 

Also, we do have a Cooling Board now, seems like a few topics have krept back on to this board, just lettin ya know.

 

would it cause the gas smell too?

 

it could be a leak just drifting into the cab or the filter in the emissions canister up front needs to be replaced.

 

the wierd thing is i notice the smell the most when i get in the car for the first time of the day.
