What weight Oil in Car

I'm switching over to syn in my 90 Lumina Car has 134,500 on it. Burns 0 oil Leaks 0 Oil. Stays at FULL all 4,000 miles. Should I go with Mobil 1 10-30 or 15-50? I use 15-50 in My maxima which has 115,000 on it and formula with 70,000

I've been using the 15-50 in my Camaro and has helped the oil pressure a little.

I use Mobil 1 Syn. 10-30 in mine, but I have a valve cover leak, so I can't vouch for it beyond that. But I did get the 5 quart jug from Wal-Mart for $11.40

$11.40, man it's $17 around here, when I worked there the 10% still didn't help that much.

I think it was supposed to be closer to $17, but when she scanned it in, that's what it came up to. I spent $11.40 on Syn. oil, and $8 on a K&N oil filter for a whopping grand total of $19.40. Woohoo!...take that quick lube place. That's cheaper than a standard oil change with a piece of sh*t filter.

I've been using Mobil 1 5w-30 for 13 years. This year I added 2 quarts of 15w-50 to raise the viscosity a bit for the hot summer. Oil pressure is good of course, but oil flow is more important for cooling and flushing particulates. Also, a too-thick oil is harder for the engine to work with so it makes the engine temps rise. I once used only 15w-50 oil and the car was noticably sluggish from fighting the extra thick oil.

i'd run the heavier oil in the heat and thinner oil in the cold.
